September in Paris, Back to school.
This is the month of Haute Couture shows, professional trade fairs on fashion, design, homeware and interior design.
It is also the season for shopping!
Window displays reveal the new Autumn-Winter collections: short skirts, high-waisted wide-leg trousers, tailored and chunky knits, patent ankle boots and heels, metallic and quilted bags, and of course bronzing products to prolong that summer glow!


Don’t miss the “Design by Design” exhibition, opening on September 26 at the Galeries nationales du Grand Palais, located on the most “beautiful avenue in the world”, the Champs Elysées. Neither too hot, nor too cold, even the weather is perfect for visiting the capital!

In 1977 the museum of fashion and costume was inaugurated at the 19th-century Palais de la duchesse de Galliera.
The museum’s 90,000 outfits and accessories are stored here in specially designed conditions to preserve the collection which is continually growing with gifts from fashion designers and stylists.

August in Paris, Holidays are in the air.
Shops and offices are closed.

Fantastic for bike rides to discover unusual places, spectacular townhouses and secret gardens.


The banks of the Seine, closed to traffic, are given over to a sandy beach, sports and cultural activities.
It’s also the month of music festivals and open-air cinema.
What’s more, it’s free!
Museums and exhibitions are very accessible.

Come evening, enjoy a romantic dinner outdoors or on a barge, or take a cruise on the Seine.
How pleasant!
